A.E. Anson was an English actor who was active in the theatre and film industry from the early 1900s until his death in 1945. He was born in London, England, on 14 September 1879. Anson began his career in the theatre, appearing in a number of plays in the West End of London. He made his film debut in 1912, appearing in the silent film The Great Adventure. He went on to appear in over 50 films, including The Lodger (1927), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934), and The 39 Steps (1935). Anson was married twice, first to actress Violet Hopson in 1910, and then to actress Mary Glynne in 1921. He had two children with his first wife, and one with his second. Anson died on 28 April 1945 in London, England, at the age of 65. His net worth at the time of his death is unknown.
