Aaron Spelling was an American film and television producer. He was born on April 22, 1923 in Dallas, Texas. He was best known for creating popular television shows such as Charlie's Angels, Dynasty, Beverly Hills 90210, and Melrose Place. Spelling began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor, appearing in several films and television shows. He then moved into producing, creating his own production company, Spelling Television, in the 1970s. He went on to produce a number of successful television shows, including The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, and 7th Heaven. Spelling was one of the most successful television producers of all time, with an estimated net worth of $600 million. He was also the recipient of numerous awards, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Producers Guild of America. Spelling passed away on June 23, 2006 at the age of 83.

Spelling bought the property in 1983, including a house that had belonged to Bing Crosby. He demolished the Crosby house and built the largest single-family home in California.
