Abdulmumini Kabir Usman is a Nigerian monarch and the current Emir of Katsina. He was born on 9 January 1952 in Katsina, Nigeria. He is the son of the late Emir of Katsina, Muhammadu Kabir Usman. Usman was educated at the Katsina Provincial Secondary School and the Katsina Teachers College. He then went on to study at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. Usman began his career as a teacher in the Katsina Provincial Secondary School. He then went on to become a lecturer at the Katsina Teachers College. In 1979, he was appointed as the Secretary to the Katsina State Government. He held this position until 1983, when he was appointed as the Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria. Usman was appointed as the Emir of Katsina in 2014, succeeding his late father. As the Emir, he is responsible for the administration of the Emirate and the welfare of its people. He is also a member of the Katsina State Council of Chiefs. Usman is married to four wives and has several children. He is a devout Muslim and is known for his philanthropic activities.
