Acquanetta was an American actress and singer who was active in Hollywood during the 1940s and 1950s. She was born Mildred Davenport on July 17, 1921 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was of Native American and African American descent. Acquanetta began her career as a showgirl in the Earl Carroll Vanities. She was discovered by Universal Pictures and signed to a contract in 1943. She appeared in a number of films, including Tarzan and the Leopard Woman (1946), The Lost Tribe (1949), and The Neanderthal Man (1953). Acquanetta was married three times. Her first marriage was to actor William Edmunds in 1945. They divorced in 1947. She then married actor Robert Livingston in 1948, and they divorced in 1951. Her third marriage was to actor and producer Paul Brinegar in 1952. They remained married until her death in 2004. Acquanetta died on August 16, 2004 in Woodland Hills, California. She was 82 years old. Her net worth at the time of her death was estimated to be around $2 million.
