Adewale Adegbusi is a Nigerian former professional boxer who competed from 1978 to 1988. He held the Commonwealth light heavyweight title from 1983 to 1985, and the African Boxing Union light heavyweight title from 1984 to 1985. Adegbusi was born on 3 March 1958 in Lagos, Nigeria. He began boxing at the age of 15, and won the Nigerian Amateur Light Heavyweight Championship in 1977. He turned professional in 1978, and won his first professional fight against John Oluwole. Adegbusi won the Commonwealth light heavyweight title in 1983, and defended it three times before losing it to Tony Willis in 1985. He also won the African Boxing Union light heavyweight title in 1984, and defended it once before losing it to Tony Willis in 1985. Adegbusi retired from boxing in 1988, with a professional record of 24 wins (14 by knockout) and 4 losses. Adegbusi is currently 66 years old. He has a height of 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m).
