Aidan Laprete Powell

Aidan James Laprete Powell was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii to "hapa" parents. His background blends a multitude of cultures being ½ Japanese, Italian, Irish, English, German and American Indian. Aidan started appearing on the little screen at the age of 18 months in a TV pilot, "The Break. " He continued to do commercials as a child and at 8 years old, was featured singing and playing the ukulele in an episode of "Hawaii Five-0". Through his preteens, he was focused more on music and live performances before landing his first supporting role as teenager "Rico" in the indie feature, "Under the Blood Red Sun". Before moving to California in 2016 with his family, he was cast in a couple of short films, Train's music video for "Mermaid" and "Adam Devine's House Party", all shot in Hawaii. Since moving to Los Angeles, Aidan's most recent work include a national Taco Bell commercial, "That Friend," a co-starring role on Freeform's "Everything's Gonna Be Ok" and Netflix's "Alexa and Katie". He is also guest starring as "Kevin" in the upcoming show "Chad" on TBS with Nasim Pedrad, debuting this Spring. Under the name Laprete, he is a singer-songwriter and music producer who has been creating alternative pop music with hip-hop/ambient/electronic/UK garage influences. At 19 years old, he is also a mastermind in engineering and producing all genres of music. Formerly known as Aidan James, he was a YouTube sensation at the age of 8, with over 20+ million views on just one video earning global recognition for his cover of "Hey Soul Sister". Under Aidan James, his unique style of blending the ukulele into pop music, his soothing vocals and looping skills mesmerized audiences from every corner of the world. He debuted his first album at the age of 14. This led him to touring Japan, Tahiti, and the US. He has been featured on ABC News, HBO, Hawaii Five-0 and Good Morning America, and has performed at Hotel Cafe, House of Blues, BMI's Songwriting Showcase and Blue Note Hawaii. He has opened for Jack Johnson, Lisa Loeb, Michael Bolton, and toured with Grammy award-winning band, Train.
