Al Broadhurst is an American figure skater who was born on 11 July, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. He is best known for his achievements in the sport of figure skating, having won the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in 1948 and 1949. He also competed in the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway, where he placed sixth. Broadhurst began skating at the age of seven and was coached by his father, who was a former professional skater. He was a member of the Skating Club of Boston and trained at the Boston Arena. He won the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in 1948 and 1949, and placed second in 1950. He also competed in the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway, where he placed sixth. Broadhurst retired from competitive skating in 1952 and went on to become a coach and choreographer. He coached at the Skating Club of Boston and the Skating Club of New York. He also choreographed for the Ice Capades and the Ice Follies. He was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1998. Broadhurst is 87 years old and has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
