He edited films such as The Wizard of Oz (1939), The Philadelphia Story (1940), and The Maltese Falcon (1941). Kantorowicz was also a prolific writer, having written several books on the history of film and television. He was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was awarded an honorary Oscar in 1975 for his contributions to the film industry.
