Ali Ibrahim Jama is a Somali politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia from 2006 to 2009. He was born in Oodweyne, Somalia, on 26 June 1956. Jama attended the Somali National University in Mogadishu, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. He then went on to pursue a Master's degree in International Relations at the University of London. Jama began his career in the Somali government in the 1980s, serving as the Director of the Somali Embassy in Washington, D.C. from 1983 to 1986. He then served as the Somali Ambassador to the United Nations from 1986 to 1989. In 2006, Jama was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, a position he held until 2009. During his tenure, he worked to improve Somalia's diplomatic relations with other countries, and to promote peace and stability in the region. Jama is currently the Chairman of the Somali National Reconciliation and Development Council, a non-governmental organization that works to promote peace and development in Somalia.
