Allan Harris is an American jazz singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He has released nine albums as a leader, and has performed with many of the world's leading jazz musicians. He has been nominated for two Grammy Awards and has won numerous awards, including the Jazz Journalists Association's Male Vocalist of the Year Award in 2008. Harris was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in the Bronx. He began playing guitar at the age of nine, and was influenced by the music of jazz greats such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. He attended the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan, and later studied at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Harris has released nine albums as a leader, including his most recent, "The Genius of Eddie Jefferson" (2020). He has also performed with many of the world's leading jazz musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea. He has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, and has won numerous awards, including the Jazz Journalists Association's Male Vocalist of the Year Award in 2008. Harris is also an accomplished composer and arranger, and has written music for television, film, and theater. He has performed at many of the world's leading jazz festivals, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Newport Jazz Festival. He has also performed at the White House for President Barack Obama.

In 2014 Allan Harris appeared in the music theatre show Cafe Society Swing by Alex Webb (musician) in a three-week run at 59E59 Theaters in New York City with a cast including vocalists Charenee Wade and Cyrille Aimée and an eight-piece band including bassist Mimi Jones. It attracted positive reviews including a Critic's Pick from The New York Times.

Harris's album Cross That River was the subject of a 2006 story on the National Public Radio program All Things Considered, which explored Harris' journey into the roles of African-Americans in the western expansion of the United States in the 19th century. Harris also has used Cross That River as a teaching tool in schools in New York, North Carolina. Cross That River is also a musical which had its debut at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2009. It received a residency grant from Chamber Music America and has been included in the Kennedy Center's Performing Arts Series (2008).
