Amado Tame Shear is a Mexican politician who served as the Governor of the State of Mexico from 1975 to 1981. He was born on 8 April, 1927 in Mexico City. He studied law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and was a professor of constitutional law at the same university. He was a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and was elected Governor of the State of Mexico in 1975. During his tenure as Governor, he implemented a number of reforms, including the creation of the State of Mexico's first public university, the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México. He also created the State of Mexico's first public health system and improved the state's infrastructure. He left office in 1981 and has since been involved in various political and social activities. He is currently a member of the Mexican Academy of Human Rights and is a member of the National Council of the PRI. As of 2021, Amado Tame Shear is 96 years old.
