Amer Husni Lutfi is a Syrian politician who served as Prime Minister of Syria from August 2011 to June 2012. He was born in 1956 in Damascus, Syria. He holds a degree in economics from Damascus University. Lutfi began his political career in the late 1970s, when he was appointed as a member of the Syrian People's Assembly. He served in various ministerial positions in the Syrian government, including Minister of Economy and Trade, Minister of Industry, and Minister of Agriculture. In August 2011, Lutfi was appointed Prime Minister of Syria by President Bashar al-Assad. He served in this position until June 2012, when he was replaced by Wael al-Halqi.
