The same year Loveleen Tandan was Casting for Slumdog Millionaire (2008). He got an Casting Call and Auditioned for Older Salim's part, the Lead Role in the Movie. He got Shortlisted, and his next round of Audition process was with Danny Boyle.

Slumdog Millionaire (2008) became his debut Movie, which was also his first Movie Audition. He missed out on Older Salim's part because Danny Boyle went younger with the Lead Roles.

In the year 2007, he was Cast in a Supporting Role in a Short Film titled Rehmaan Sahab Ko Phone Karna Hai (2008) Directed by Sumeet Sachdev.

His hometown is Ranchi, Jharkhand. He was a good Athlete in School and won events like the Long Jump, High Jump and Hop Skip & Jump through his School and College life. In School he often won Essay writing competitions, Quizzes, Elocutions, Drawings and Painting contests at the City levels. He was also a School Prefect. He was also very good in Sports. He excelled in Cricket and Tennis. He has played Tennis at State Level Championships. He was more likely inclined towards making a career in Sports. He has played Cricket for his School and at Club Levels as a Top-order batsman. After finishing his High School, at the age of 18, he joined the Act One Art Group in New Delhi, India, from where he started his Acting career. He went on to do Amateur and Professional Theatre. He trained under Mr. N. K. Sharma, an Eminent Theatre personality in India. To pursue a career in Acting, he moved to Mumbai in January, 2004.
