Amna Nawaz is an American broadcast journalist and reporter. She is currently the anchor of PBS NewsHour Weekend and a correspondent for the PBS NewsHour. She has reported from around the world, including from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. Nawaz was born on September 18, 1979 in Virginia, United States. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2001 with a degree in Foreign Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies. She then went on to earn a master's degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics in 2003. Nawaz began her career as a reporter for ABC News in 2004. She then moved to NBC News in 2007, where she served as a correspondent and anchor for MSNBC. In 2013, she joined PBS NewsHour as a correspondent and anchor. Nawaz has won numerous awards for her work, including an Emmy Award for her coverage of the 2016 presidential election. She has also been honored with the Edward R.
