Abdulwahid Bidin was a Filipino politician and former governor of Sulu. He was born to a prominent family in Sitangkai, Sulu, Philippine Islands. He attended the University of the Philippines and graduated with a degree in law. He began his political career in the 1950s, when he was elected to the provincial board of Sulu. He was later elected as governor of Sulu in 1967 and served until 1972. During his tenure, he was credited with improving the infrastructure of the province and promoting economic development. In 1972, he was appointed as the Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, a post he held until 1975. After his term as ambassador, he returned to Sulu and was elected to the Philippine Senate in 1987. He served in the Senate until 1992. Abdulwahid Bidin passed away on April 7, 2019 at the age of 94. He was survived by his wife, four children, and numerous grandchildren. At the time of his death, Abdulwahid Bidin had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
