Adam Sisman is a British historian and biographer. He is best known for his biographies of Hugh Trevor-Roper, John le Carré, and Primo Levi. He was educated at the University of Oxford, where he received a BA in Modern History in 1975 and a DPhil in Modern History in 1981. Sisman has written several books, including The Professor and the Parson: A Story of Desire, Deceit and Defrocking (2008), A. J. P. Taylor: A Biography (1994), and The Friendship: Wordsworth and Coleridge (2007). He has also written for The Times Literary Supplement, The Guardian, The New York Times, and The New Yorker. Sisman is married to the historian and biographer Miranda Carter. They have two children. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.

Adam Sisman (born 17 March 1954) is a British writer, editor and biographer. He received the National Book Critics Circle Award for his second book, Boswell's Presumptuous Task. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and an Honorary Fellow of the University of St Andrews.

Sisman was born in London in 1954, the eldest child of David and Marjorie Sisman. He attended St Paul's School and then the University of Sussex, where he read history. After graduating, he worked in book publishing before becoming a writer. In 1979 he married Robyn Sisman, who died in 2016. They have two daughters.
