Åge Rønning is a Norwegian writer and journalist. He was born on 4 October 1925 in Oslo, Norway. He is best known for his novels, short stories, and plays. He has written more than 30 books, including the novel "The Last Summer" (1962), which was adapted into a film in 1965. Rønning studied at the University of Oslo and worked as a journalist for the newspaper Aftenposten from 1951 to 1965. He was awarded the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature in 1962 for his novel "The Last Summer". He was also awarded the Norwegian Booksellers' Prize in 1965 for his novel "The Summer of the White Rose". Rønning has been married twice and has two children. He currently lives in Oslo.
