Aggrey Mwanri is a Tanzanian politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 2005. He was born in Tanganyika on 17 July 1955. Mwanri attended the University of Dar es Salaam, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in International Relations at the University of London. Mwanri began his career in the Tanzanian government in the 1980s, serving as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was later appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1995, a position he held until 2005. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the establishment of the East African Community and the African Union. Mwanri has also served as the Tanzanian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Nations. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Investment Centre. Mwanri is 65 years old. He is married and has two children. His height is 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 m).
