Ajit de Silva is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in the international arena from 1979 to 1992. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He was born on 12 December 1952 in Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka. De Silva made his Test debut against India in 1979 and played in a total of 33 Tests, scoring 1,845 runs at an average of 28.45. He also took 33 wickets at an average of 43.45. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Pakistan in 1982 and played in a total of 54 ODIs, scoring 1,039 runs at an average of 22.17. He also took 44 wickets at an average of 33.86. De Silva was a member of the Sri Lankan team that won the 1996 Cricket World Cup. He was also a member of the Sri Lankan team that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002. De Silva is currently the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. He is also the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Foundation. As of 2021, Ajit de Silva's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
