Aksel Fronth is a Norwegian architect who was born on 6 March, 1925 in Sarpsborg, Norway. He is best known for his modernist designs, which often incorporate elements of traditional Norwegian architecture. He has designed numerous public buildings, including the Norwegian Parliament Building in Oslo, the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo. Fronth studied architecture at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim, graduating in 1950. He then worked for the Norwegian State Railways before establishing his own practice in Oslo in 1954. He has since designed numerous public buildings, including the Norwegian Parliament Building in Oslo, the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo. Fronth has received numerous awards for his work, including the Prince Eugen Medal in 1975, the Order of St. Olav in 1981, and the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit in 1996.
