Albinas Elskus is a Lithuanian-born American artist and sculptor. He is best known for his abstract sculptures, which often feature geometric shapes and bright colors. He has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, Elskus studied at the Kaunas Art Institute and the Vilnius Academy of Arts. He moved to the United States in 1949 and settled in New York City. He worked as a graphic designer and illustrator before turning to sculpture in the 1960s. Elskus has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Sculpture in 1975 and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Sculpture in 1981.
