Alex Akimoff was born into a Jewish family in Ivangorod, Russian Empire. He began his career as a stage actor in the early 1900s, performing in Yiddish theater in Russia and Poland. He moved to the United States in the 1920s and continued to act in Yiddish theater in New York City. He also worked as a music director for Yiddish theater productions. In the 1930s, Akimoff began appearing in films, often playing Jewish characters. He appeared in films such as The Jazz Singer (1927), The Great Dictator (1940), and The Shop Around the Corner (1940). He also appeared in television shows such as The Goldbergs (1949-1956) and The Phil Silvers Show (1955-1959). Akimoff was married to actress and singer Celia Adler from 1932 until her death in 1979. He died in Los Angeles, California in 1984 at the age of 98. Alex Akimoff's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million. He earned his wealth through his career as an actor and music director.
