Alexandru Cosma is a Romanian weightlifter who was born on 21 February, 1926 in Bucharest, Romania. He is 97 years old. Cosma began his weightlifting career in the 1950s and competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. He won a bronze medal in the featherweight division. He also competed in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia, where he won a silver medal in the featherweight division. Cosma has won numerous medals in international competitions, including gold medals at the European Weightlifting Championships in 1954 and 1956. He also won a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in 1955. Cosma is considered one of the greatest weightlifters of all time. He is a member of the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame. Cosma is married and has two children. He currently lives in Bucharest, Romania.
