Ali Abdo was born into a wealthy family in Borujerd, Persia. He attended the University of Tehran and graduated with a degree in engineering. After graduation, he worked as an engineer in the oil industry. In the early 1950s, Ali Abdo founded the first Iranian oil company, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). He was also instrumental in the development of the Iranian oil industry, and was responsible for the construction of the first oil refinery in Iran. In the late 1950s, Ali Abdo founded the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), which is now the largest oil company in Iran. He also founded the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), which is now the largest gas company in Iran. Ali Abdo was also involved in the development of the Iranian banking system, and was responsible for the establishment of the Central Bank of Iran. He was also a major shareholder in the Bank Melli Iran, which is now the largest bank in Iran. Ali Abdo is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC). Ali Abdo is estimated to have a net worth of over $1 billion.
