Allan Evans is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a defender. He began his career with Dunfermline Athletic in 1974, and went on to play for Rangers, Coventry City, and Motherwell. He also had a brief spell with the San Jose Earthquakes in the United States. Evans made over 500 appearances in the Scottish Football League and Premier Division, and won the Scottish Cup with Rangers in 1983. He was capped four times for Scotland, and was part of the squad that reached the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Evans retired from playing in 1997, and went on to manage Motherwell and Stirling Albion. He is currently a coach at Rangers. As of 2021, Allan Evans's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million. Evans began his senior career as a forward, at his home town club, Dunfermline Athletic. His career peaked at Aston Villa, where he formed a pivotal centre back partnership with Ken McNaught. They won the English league title in 1980–81 and was part of Villa's 1982 European Cup winning team. They also beat Barcelona over two legs to win the Super Cup in the following season. Evans later became Villa club captain and helped them win promotion back to the First Division in 1988.
