Alovsat Bakhshiyev is an Azerbaijani politician and former Prime Minister of Azerbaijan. He was born on 22 June 1956 in Sharur, Azerbaijan. He graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 1978 and then worked in various positions in the Ministry of Finance of the Azerbaijan SSR. In 1992, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and in 1993 he was appointed Prime Minister of Azerbaijan. He served in this position until 1996. Bakhshiyev is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party and has served as a member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan since 2005. He is also a member of the Central Executive Committee of the New Azerbaijan Party. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Investment Company. Bakhshiyev is married and has two children. His current net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.

Alovsat Gazamfar oglu Bakhshiyev was born on June 22, 1956, in Karimbayli village of Sharur region, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan. In 1963 he went to class secondary school, graduated from high school in 1973. That same year, entered the finance-credit faculty of the Institute of Azerbaijan National Economy called D.Bunyadzade and in 1977 graduated from the Institute as economist.
