De Torres has published several books, including the novel El árbol de la vida (The Tree of Life), the poetry collection El canto de la tierra (The Song of the Earth), and the essay collection El mundo de la palabra (The World of the Word). He has also written for various newspapers and magazines, including El Faro, Revista de la Universidad Centroamericana, and El Diario de Hoy. De Torres has received numerous awards for his work, including the National Prize for Literature in El Salvador in 2006, the National Prize for Poetry in El Salvador in 2008, and the National Prize for Essays in El Salvador in 2009.
