Anjani Thomas is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is best known for her work with singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, with whom she has collaborated since the early 2000s. Anjani was born on July 10, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is the daughter of a Hawaiian mother and a father of Indian descent. She began playing the piano at the age of five and later studied classical music at the University of Hawaii. Anjani has released four solo albums, Blue Alert (2006), The Sacred Names (2008), Anjani (2010), and The Brightness (2013). She has also collaborated with Leonard Cohen on his albums Dear Heather (2004) and Old Ideas (2012). Anjani has been married to her husband, John Lissauer, since 1985.
