Anthony Armstrong was a Canadian writer and poet. He was born in Esquimalt, British Columbia, and attended the University of British Columbia. He served in the Canadian Army during World War I, and was wounded in action. After the war, he worked as a journalist and editor for various newspapers in British Columbia. Armstrong wrote several books of poetry, including The Golden Book of Canada (1925), The Golden Book of British Columbia (1927), and The Golden Book of the Pacific (1929). He also wrote a novel, The Valley of the Shadow (1930). Armstrong was a member of the Canadian Authors Association and the League of Canadian Poets. He was awarded the Order of Canada in 1971. He died in Vancouver in 1975.
