Anwarul Ashraf Khan is a Bangladeshi politician who has served as the Minister of Home Affairs in the Government of Bangladesh from 2009 to 2013. He was born on 1 October 1956 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a member of the Bangladesh Awami League and has been a Member of Parliament since 1991. Khan graduated from the University of Dhaka in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the same university in 1980. Khan has held various positions in the Government of Bangladesh, including Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Minister of Industries, and Minister of Posts and Telecommunications. He has also served as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs. Khan is married to Dr. Farida Ashraf Khan and has two sons. He is an avid reader and enjoys playing golf.
