Arne Sandnes (Rogaland) is a Norwegian politician who served as a Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party from 1973 to 1989. He was born on 27 September 1925 in Stavanger, Norway. Sandnes was educated at the University of Oslo, where he earned a degree in law in 1951. He then worked as a lawyer in Stavanger from 1951 to 1973. In 1973, Sandnes was elected to the Norwegian Parliament, where he served until 1989. During his time in Parliament, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Justice and the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. Sandnes was also a member of the Norwegian delegation to the United Nations General Assembly from 1975 to 1989. He was a member of the Norwegian delegation to the Council of Europe from 1975 to 1989. Sandnes was a member of the Norwegian delegation to the European Parliament from 1979 to 1989. He was also a member of the Norwegian delegation to the Nordic Council from 1979 to 1989. Sandnes was a member of the Norwegian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union from 1979 to 1989. He was also a member of the Norwegian delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Commission from 1979 to 1989. Sandnes was a member of the Norwegian delegation to the United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea from 1982 to 1989. He was also a member of the Norwegian delegation to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development from 1992 to 1993. Sandnes is currently retired and lives in Stavanger, Norway.
