Arthur 'Bugs' Baer was an American writer, editor, and humorist. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began his career as a newspaper reporter in New York City. He wrote for the New York Evening Mail, the New York World, and the New York American. He was also a columnist for the New York Evening Graphic and the New York Daily News. Baer was best known for his humorous columns and books, which often featured his trademark catchphrase, "Youse guys." He wrote several books, including "Youse Guys and Other New York Types" (1925), "Bugs Baer's Own Book of Laughs" (1927), and "Bugs Baer's Own Book of More Laughs" (1929). He also wrote a syndicated column for the New York Daily News, which ran from 1925 to 1932. Baer was a popular figure in the New York City media scene, and was known for his wit and humor. He was also a frequent guest on radio programs, including the popular "The Chase and Sanborn Hour" with Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy. Baer died in New York City on April 14, 1969. He was 83 years old.
