Arthur Osman Farquhar Stuart is a Sierra Leonean doctor and former politician. He was born on 28 December 1927 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He attended the Prince of Wales School in Freetown and then went on to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He graduated in 1954 and returned to Sierra Leone to practice medicine. In 1962, he was elected to the Legislative Council of Sierra Leone and served as Minister of Health and Social Welfare from 1964 to 1967. He was also a member of the All People's Congress (APC) and served as the party's chairman from 1967 to 1968. In 1968, he was appointed as the first Sierra Leonean Ambassador to the United States and served in that position until 1971. He then returned to Sierra Leone and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1971 to 1972. In 1972, he was appointed as the first Sierra Leonean Ambassador to the United Nations and served in that position until 1975. He then returned to Sierra Leone and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1975 to 1977. He is currently retired and living in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is 75 years old.
