Aurel Neagu is a Romanian wrestler who was born on 8 July 1954 in Romania. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a gold medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow and a silver medal in the same event at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He also won a bronze medal at the 1983 World Championships in Kiev. Neagu began his wrestling career in 1972 and competed in the Greco-Roman style. He won the Romanian national championship in 1975 and went on to win the European Championship in 1977. He also won the World Cup in 1979 and 1981. Neagu retired from wrestling in 1985 and has since become a coach. He has coached the Romanian national team and has also coached in the United States. He currently resides in Romania. Neagu is married and has two children. He is 66 years old.
