Aurelia Marinescu is a Romanian rower who was born on 3 April 1954 in Romania. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having won gold in the women's double sculls at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. She also won a bronze medal in the women's single sculls at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Marinescu began rowing in 1968 and was part of the Romanian national team from 1972 to 1984. She was coached by Constantin Popescu and won numerous medals at the European Championships and World Championships. Marinescu is 1.68 m (5 ft 6 in) tall and weighs 65 kg (143 lb). She is married to former rower Gheorghe Marinescu and has two children. She currently works as a rowing coach in Romania.
