Aziz Akbarian is an Iranian politician who has served as the Minister of Education since August 2017. He was born on 12 March 1957 in Hashtrood, Iran. He holds a PhD in Educational Administration from the University of Tehran. Akbarian has held various positions in the Iranian government, including Deputy Minister of Education, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology, and Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Education. He has also served as the President of the Islamic Azad University and the President of the National Elites Foundation. Akbarian is a member of the Islamic Coalition Party and has been a member of the Iranian Parliament since 2008. He is also a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.
