He was enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Maharashtra in 1983. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court in 2003 and was made a Permanent Judge in 2005. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court in 2017 and retired in 2019. He is married to Mrs. Uma Dharmadhikari and has two children. B. P.
