In 1998 During treatment for drug and alcohol abuse, Barry, and close friend, top ranked Equestrian Competitor, Esther Hillner became partners in ownership of Harmonious (Harvey), a Dutch Warmblood ranked in the top three in the nation for Dressage Musical Freestyle before a suspensory injury, neglect by his trainer and an addiction to painkillers and sedatives left his career in question. Incredibly, the bond of horse and man both in recovery and rehabilitation proved to be a therapy Barry, most adapted to. Barry, now drug-free, studies fine arts in Las Vegas and New York and Harmonious, has prevailed as reserve champion in his first two Hunter/Jumper competitions.
