Benjamin Crémieux was a French writer and poet. He was born on 1 December 1888 in Narbonne, Aude, France. He was educated at the Lycée de Narbonne and the Lycée de Montpellier. He studied law at the University of Montpellier and was admitted to the bar in 1912. Crémieux was a member of the French Resistance during World War II and was arrested by the Gestapo in 1944. He was released in 1945 and returned to writing. He wrote several novels, plays, and poetry collections. His works include the novel La Maison des Champs (1947), the play La Nuit des Rois (1948), and the poetry collection Les Chants de la Mer (1951). Crémieux was awarded the Grand Prix de Littérature de la Société des Gens de Lettres in 1951. He died on 28 April 1954 in Paris, France.
