Bette Midler is an American singer-songwriter, actress, comedian, and film producer. She is best known for her hit songs such as "The Rose," "Wind Beneath My Wings," and "From a Distance." She has won four Grammy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, three Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award.
Midler was born on December 1, 1945 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She began her career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1960s before making her Broadway debut in the musical Fiddler on the Roof in 1971. She went on to star in several films, including The Rose (1979), Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986), and Beaches (1988).
