During her time in office, she was a member of the House Appropriations Committee and the House Education Committee. She was also a member of the Vermont Women's Political Caucus. Bolognani was a strong advocate for women's rights and was a leader in the fight for equal pay for equal work. She was also a strong supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment. In addition to her political career, Bolognani was also a teacher and a businesswoman. She owned and operated a small business in Vermont for many years.
