Boris Škanata is a former Yugoslav swimmer who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics. He was born on 18 May 1927 in Montenegro. Škanata competed in the 100 m freestyle event at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, but did not reach the final. He also competed in the 4×200 m freestyle relay, but his team did not finish the race. Škanata was a member of the Yugoslav national team from 1947 to 1951. He won the Yugoslav national championship in the 100 m freestyle in 1948 and 1949. Škanata was a member of the Partizan swimming club in Belgrade. After retiring from competitive swimming, he became a swimming coach. He was the head coach of the Partizan swimming club from 1952 to 1956. He also coached the Yugoslav national team from 1956 to 1960. Škanata was awarded the Order of Merit of the Yugoslav People's Army in 1960. He died on 28 April 2020 in Belgrade, Serbia.
