In 2018, Brian led nine inexperienced riders on a grueling off-road motorcycle adventure in search of Phantom Lake in rural Wyoming. Fully recorded, the trip was turned into a 7-part reality TV series entitled Phantom Lake, featured on Amazon Prime.
From a first service attendance of 450 people, Tome has led Crossroads to expand to 12 physical sites, in two states, with an average weekend attendance of 50,000 people (including online streaming). Under Tome's leadership, Crossroads was named the 4th largest and fastest growing church in the nation in 2017 by Outreach Magazine.
In 2017, Libby suffered a stroke during a routine workout. After surgeons removed a blood clot from her brain, Libby made a full recovery that even medical staff described as miraculous.
An avid adventure motorcycle rider, Brian invented a motorcycle piece called the stanch clamp, earning him the People's Choice Award at the 2016 Garage Brewed Motorcycle Show for Custom Bike Build.
Answering an ad in the back of a magazine, Tome interviewed for the role of founding pastor for Crossroads Church in Cincinnati. The 11 founding members of the church pooled their resources, ensuring Tome one-year's salary if he would take the job. Tome accepted, relocating his family to Cincinnati. Crossroads held its first service on March 25, 1996.
Tome began his vocational ministry career in 1987 at North Park Church in Pittsburgh, serving as student minister. Tome met his future wife, Libby, the first Sunday on the job. While at North Park, Tome was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Tome left North Park in 1995.
Brian Tome was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was adopted at birth. He graduated from Franklin Regional High School in 1983 and attended Robert Morris University, graduating in 1990 with a degree in Communications Management. Tome subsequently obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
