Bruce Rowland is an Australian composer and conductor who has composed music for over 100 films and television series. He is best known for his work on the films The Man from Snowy River and Phar Lap. Rowland was born in Melbourne, Australia, on 9 May 1942. He studied at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 1965. He then went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he graduated with a Master of Music in 1967. Rowland has composed music for over 100 films and television series, including The Man from Snowy River, Phar Lap, The Lighthorsemen, The Flying Doctors, and The Silver Brumby. He has also composed music for the stage, including the musicals The Man from Snowy River and The Silver Brumby. Rowland has won numerous awards for his work, including the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Music Score for The Man from Snowy River in 1982, and the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Music Score for The Silver Brumby in 1993. Rowland is currently living in Melbourne, Australia.
