Bruce Taylor is an American musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the lead guitarist and co-founder of the rock band Boston. He is also a member of the band RTZ. Taylor was born in Holden, Massachusetts, and grew up in nearby Worcester. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and by the time he was 15, he was playing in local bands. He attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he studied music and engineering. Taylor formed the band Boston in 1975 with Tom Scholz and Brad Delp. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1976, which went on to become one of the best-selling debut albums of all time. Taylor co-wrote and co-produced the album, and played lead guitar on several of the tracks. Taylor left Boston in 1983, and formed the band RTZ with Delp and guitarist Barry Goudreau. The band released one album, Return to Zero, in 1991. Taylor has also worked as a producer and engineer for other artists, including Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, and the Cars.
