Buddy Baer was an American boxer who competed in the heavyweight division. He was born on June 11, 1915 in Denver, Colorado. He was the brother of Max Baer, who was also a heavyweight boxer. Buddy Baer began his professional boxing career in 1933 and went on to become one of the most successful boxers of his era. He won the National Boxing Association heavyweight title in 1940 and the California State heavyweight title in 1941. He also fought in several high-profile bouts against the likes of Joe Louis, Max Schmeling, and Rocky Marciano. Buddy Baer retired from boxing in 1947 with a record of 66 wins, 24 losses, and 2 draws. After his retirement, he became a successful actor, appearing in several films and television shows. Buddy Baer was married to actress and singer Ella Logan from 1945 until his death in 1986. He had two children, Max Baer Jr. and Maudie Baer.
