He is the recipient of two Ivor Novello awards for; Our House, co-written with Madness guitarist Chris Foreman & for Outstanding Song Collection with the other 6 members of the band. During Madness 'rest' period from 1986 to their infamous return to the stage in 1992 with Madstock in London's Finsbury Park, Cathal became an A&R man at Go! Discs.
