Carlos Motta is a Brazilian judoka who was born on 25 February, 1955 in Brazil. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a bronze medal in the men's half-middleweight division at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, and a silver medal in the men's half-middleweight division at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Motta began his judo career in the early 1970s, and quickly rose to prominence in the sport. He won the Brazilian National Judo Championships in 1974, 1975, and 1976, and was the South American Judo Champion in 1975 and 1976. He also won the Pan American Judo Championships in 1975 and 1976. Motta was a member of the Brazilian judo team at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, where he won a bronze medal in the men's half-middleweight division. He also competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, where he won a silver medal in the same division. Motta retired from competitive judo in the early 1980s, and has since become a judo coach and referee. He is currently the president of the Brazilian Judo Confederation.

Carlos Eduardo Santos Motta (born February 25, 1955 - died October 30, 2018) was a retired competitive judoka from Brazil, who represented his native country at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. Nicknamed "Tico" he won the silver medal at the 1975 Pan American Games in the men's middleweight division (– 80 kg), after a loss in the final against Canada's Rainer Fischer.
