Charles L. Evans is an American economist and the ninth president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He was born on January 15, 1958 in the United States. Evans received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of South Carolina in 1980 and his Ph.D. in economics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1985. He began his career as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis in 1985. He then moved to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 1990, where he served as a senior economist and director of research. In 2002, he was appointed as the director of the Bank's newly created Center for Economic and Financial Research. In 2007, Evans was appointed as the Bank's vice president and director of research. In 2011, he was appointed as the Bank's president and chief executive officer. Evans is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the National Association for Business Economics, and the American Economic Association. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. As of 2021, Charles L. Evans's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
