Chaudhary Dalbir Singh is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Punjab from 1972 to 1977. He was born on 5 March 1926 in Parbhuwala, Punjab, British India. He was educated at the Government College, Lahore and the University of Punjab. He began his political career in 1952 when he was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly. He was re-elected in 1957 and 1962. In 1967, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Amritsar constituency. He was re-elected in 1971 and 1977. In 1972, he became the Chief Minister of Punjab and served until 1977. He was also the Minister of Home Affairs in the Government of India from 1977 to 1979. Chaudhary Dalbir Singh is married to Shrimati Rajinder Kaur and has two sons and two daughters. He is currently 91 years old.
